Check Out Windows 8 System Requirements

Windows 8 is now soon to be launched with its tremendous features however Consumer Preview version of Windows 8 now available to download. It is obvious that Microsoft has always been defeating Apple in the battle of producing better Operating Systems but not till the last decade. In the last decade Apple has gone much better with the production of some impressive Operating Systems. But now Apple is very much worried due to the releasing of new Windows 8 because it is expected that it will again give a rise to Microsoft against Apple due to its very interactive User Interface and other attractive features that eventually produce more Windows users than Mac OS users. Apple is also still in stress due to the loss of Steve Jobs.

Windows 8 Release Date

Windows 8 is expected to be released sometime in mid-late 2012. The actual date of launching is not announced yet and so it is difficult to predict the exact date of release as it is under-development.
Pre-Beta versions of Windows 8 are available for those who would like to experience earlier, in the following versions.
  • 64-bit version – Only Operating System
  • 32-bit version – Only Operating System
  • 64-bit version – With Developer Tools

Windows 8 System Requirements

Now there are things that people should know to keep the new Windows working correctly on their systems. For this reason, some hardware and software advices were published by Microsoft for acquiring and new Windows 8.

First of all, the simplest advice is that if you have a system in which Windows 7 came pre-installed and you have got a Windows 7 logo-sticker on your PC then there is no need to check out the system requirements.
If Windows 7 is working properly on that system, Windows 8 will do so.

However the hardware requirements for Windows 8 are:

1 GHz or faster processor
1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver


Microsoft advice for the use of the Metro style app. It is that the application which has a minimum of 1024×768 screen resolution, and 1366×768 for the snap feature. If a Metro style app is tried to run with less resolution like 800×600, 1024×600 you will receive an error message.

An another advice for Windows 8 about Touch, is that in Windows 8 if you want to support touch, you need a screen that supports multi-touch features.
