How: How to Block Websites without using any Software?

A lot of people specially parents want’s to block some website so that their children cant access them but they don’t want to install some space consuming software’s that will block websites.


Following are some few steps that will help you block Websites:

· Browse to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

· Find the file with the name “HOST”

· Open that file in NOTEPAD

· Under “127.0.0.1 local host” add 127.0.0.2 and write any site name that you want to block.

· Example “127.0.0.2 www.facebook.com”

· If u wants to add multiple sites you just need to add 1 more in the internal ip (127.0.0.2).

· After doing that the site that you want to block won’t be accessible.

· Then save that file.

· Just to be safe copy the original file in any safe place so that if you do anything wrong then you can easily revert it back to normal.


These are the steps to block sites without using any software’s.

Above steps are tested on Win XP OS it might not work on Other OS.
